Andy Murray admits he is surprised by how well he is playing on his return to tennis but has not yet confirmed if he will compete at Wimbledon.
After nearly a year out with a hip injury Murray lost on his comeback against Nick Kyrgios at Queen’s last week but beat Stan Wawrinka at the Nature Valley International at Eastbourne yesterday.
Murray, who will now play fellow Briton Kyle Edmund in the second round at Eastbourne tomorrow at 11am, said in his BBC Sport column that he was pleased with his performance against Wawrinka.

He wrote: “I am a little bit surprised at how well I’ve played so early in my comeback because I don’t feel like I’ve practised loads - not like I would have done in the past in the build-up to events.
“The positive to that is I don’t necessarily have to practise for three hours a day before events like I would have done in the past - feeling like that is what I had to do to perform well. Maybe that’s not the case now. Maybe I can rest my body a little more.”
The Wimbledon Grand Slam starts on 2 July at the All England Club but two-time winner Murray says he will play only if he’s ready.
He told Sky Sports: “I’m not putting any pressure on myself to make that decision after one or two matches because I don’t need to.
“I can decide when I want and I’m going to do that. I’m coming back from a very serious injury, which is not easy. My health and my body are my number one priority right now and I will make that decision when I am ready.”
