Hublot and the Prince's Trust create a charity collectable
The Swiss watch manufacture continues its philanthropic work with a limited edition piece to support disadvantaged young people
While philanthropy is a strong theme in the watchmaking world, Hublot takes its charitable activity more seriously than most. In the last two months alone it has created a limited edition watch in partnership with Depeche Mode to raise funds for the non-profit organisation, Charity: Water, which aims to bring clean supplies to developing countries. For Hublot's latest release, it has turned its focus to UK-based charity the Prince's Trust. The organisation, supported by the Prince of Wales, aims to provide financial and practical assistance to disadvantaged young people to help get their lives back on track.
For the occasion it has reimagined its popular classic fusion line with a new timepiece – limited to 100 pieces and initially available exclusively from Harrods – with a portion of the proceeds from each sale going towards the charity. Despite being a sizeable 45mm in diameter, the chronograph model is understated and eminently wearable, featuring an elegant blue sunray dial contrasted against the clean lines of the satin-finished titanium case. Its purpose is subtly indicated with the Prince's Trust logo shown at 12 o'clock and also on the watch's sapphire glass case back, from which you can watch the workings of the self-winding movement.
