Auction round-up: June's valuable lots
Going under the hammer this month are some fine examples of modern masterpieces, classic cars and musical memorabilia
Collectors and investors will have the chance to bid for some covetable lots at the specialist auctions taking place in June.
Music enthusiasts might like to visit Gardiner Houlgate in Bath on 15 June for one of its regular guitar sales, which will feature a number of lots from British bassist Mark Griffiths, who has recorded and toured with everyone from The Everly Brothers to Mark Knopfler, and had been The Shadows' and Hank Marvin's regular bassist for many years. His guitars offered for sale start at a guide price of £80-£100 and go up to £10,000-£12,000 for a 1962 Fender Stratocaster.
From music to motors, and classic-car specialist H&H has a stunning collection of vintage cars available at its 2 June auction at the National Motorcycle Museum in Bickenhill, Solihull. Lots include a 1937 Rolls-Royce 25/30 Saloon in silver with red leather interior (£28,000-£32,000), an E-Type Jaguar V12 Coupe from 1971 (£40,000-£50,000) and a 1950 limited-edition Austin A90 Atlantic Convertible in Old English White, one of a run of just 3,718 (£20,000-£24,000). In the afternoon, the focus switches to two wheels, with a sale of classic motorcycles featuring an original 1957 BSA Gold Star Scrambler (£12,000-£15,000) and a fully restored Triumph TR6 from 1959 (£10,000-£12,000).

Art also features strongly this month. On 7 June, Salisbury-based Woolley & Wallis has an auction of modern British and 20th-century art. There will also be a modern and contemporary art auction taking place at Chiswick Auctions, on 27 June.
