Twitter reacts to Donald Trump’s ‘milestone’ meeting with Kim Jong Un
‘Sure they will calmly hammer out a thoughtful, comprehensive agreement... LOL jk jk we’re all gonna die’

Donald Trump stunned the world last night by revealing that he had accepted an invitation for talks with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to discuss possible denuclearisation as early as May.
If the plans come to fruition, it would be the first time a sitting US president has sat down with a North Korean leader.
The bombshell announcement, which followed an unscheduled meeting between Trump and a visiting delegation from South Korea, was met with shock.

However, some analysts noted that, despite its frequently bellicose rhetoric towards Washington DC, the “hermit kingdom” has been seeking talks with the US since the 1990s.
While one tweeter offered some wry commentary on the similarities between the unpredictable Pyongyang regime and the turbulent Trump White House:
Many weren’t convinced that a man with a well-documented penchant for going off-message and slinging insults at his enemies - including branding Kim ‘Rocket Man’ - was the best person to handle negotiations with a volatile nuclear power.
Yet even more horrifying for some than the prospect of total annihilation was the prospect of a victory for Trump:
But even his detractors had to admit that the talks had the potential to become an astonishing historical breakthrough:
However, getting Trump and Kim in the same room will mean overcoming rampant mutual distrust between their countries - with some understandably less than enamoured with the idea of the leader of the free world jetting off to Pyongyang:
But some saw the up sides of getting the two in the same room:
