Porsche Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo: release date, price and specs
With their V8 engines and sporty cabins these driver-focused cars are capable of 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds
Drivers in search of a track-focused sports car with all the luxury and space of a five-seat executive cruiser are in luck. Porsche has just announced two new versions of its Panamera GTS.
Available in saloon and estate-style Sport Turismo form, the two Panamera GTS models are kitted out with sporty cabins and twin-turbo V8 engines. This makes them the most driver-centric models of the company’s executive car range.
A number of design tweaks set the GTS version apart from the regular Panamera. The front and rear ends of the cars feature black highlights in gloss, for example, along with 20in wheels as standard. Buyers can expect plenty of GTS badges both inside and out.

The interior has been given a makeover, with high-grip Alcantara covering the steering wheel and seats. There’s a stopwatch at the centre of the dashboard for drivers keen to take their cars onto racetracks.
Porsche is due to start delivering the cars to customers over the coming months. For now, here’s a close look at what’s new in the Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Sport Turismo:
Price and release date
Orders for both cars are now open, according to Auto Express. But others say the sporty executive car won’t arrive until later this year.
Prices start at £105,963 for the saloon and £108,110 for the Sport Turismo.
Cabin interior and technology
At first glance, there’s little difference between the cabin in the standard Panamera and its GTS siblings. GTS buyers will have the same 12.3in infotainment system as they would on standard cars, as well as an analogue rev counter flanked by two customisable digital displays.
On closer inspection there are a few differences between the regular car and its GTS variants.
The dashboard, steering wheel and door inlays are wrapped in Alcantara as standard, for example, with aluminium highlights around the air vents and centre console.
The GTS saloon and Sport Turismo have also been designed with Porsche’s new customisable heads-up display, says Autocar. The technology projects information onto the windscreen directly in front of the driver. This feature will appear in other models in the Panamera range at a later date.
Engine and performance
Under the bonnet of the two GTS models you’ll find a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine identical to the one in the range-topping Panamera Turbo.
While the engine produces 542bhp in the Turbo, Top Gear says that Porsche has detuned the motor for the GTS and GTS Sport Turismo as both models sit below the Turbo in the Panamera range.
The GTS models have an output of 454bhp and 457lb-ft. This is sent to the car’s four-wheel drive system through an eight-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox, the motoring site says.
This helps launch the two cars from 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and on to top speeds of 181mph (for the saloon) and 180mph (for the Sport Turismo).
