Man Utd mock Liverpool as new kits are unveiled - video
United 'Chevrolet' strip gets nod of approval but fans ridicule 'bizarre' Liverpool number
Manchester United have unveiled their new kit for next season as they hope to usher in a new era at Old Trafford with a new manager and a new sponsor.
The new shirts, revealed for the first time in a video released on Monday, are the first to feature the Chevrolet logo after the car manufacturer took over from financial services company, Aon, in a deal worth more than £30m a year.
The simple red kits have United's traditional black and white trim on the collar and sleeves while the large Chevrolet insignia adds a more than splash of yellow to the front of the shirt. "Fans will be hoping that it brings the club better results than they experienced last term," says the Daily Mail.

The design was not badly received, although some were concerned about the size of the Chevrolet emblem.

Others were less impressed by the choice of models, particularly as Old Trafford hate-figure Marouane Fellaini was one of the players to feature in the launch video.
Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney are obvious choices to show off the kit and Japan star Shinji Kagawa's presence can be explained from a marketing perspective, "but poking his head out of the crowd at the back is Fellaini – a man forever identified with the Moyes era, following him from Everton to Old Trafford and failing to score a single goal in a miserable first season", notes Metro.

However, any major concerns about the new kit were outweighed by the pleasure United fans took from the announcement of Liverpool's new third kit, which came out on the same day.
The Anfield club's red and black number was described as "bizarre" by The Independent and even started trending on Twitter as fans rushed to mock the design. Sports website SB Nation said it looked like something out of a "horror movie" while Metro compared it to "an accident on a zebra crossing".

That Liverpool kit. Speechless. Is that an attempt at 'leisure wear'? Looks like the offcuts of a late 90s Clone Island/Rackett workshop. — John Brewin (@JohnBrewinESPN) July 7, 2014
