Sunday’s IPL final will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai
Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on the Chennai Super Kings for the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) title after defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last play-off match.
The Sunrisers, who finished top of the regular league campaign, batted first in the Qualifier 2 and posted a total of 174-7. In reply Kolkata came up short by 13 runs after being restricted to 161-9 in their innings.
The man-of-the-match in the deciding play-off was Afghan teenager Rashid Khan. The Sunrisers star had the “perfect match”, IPL20.com reports, as he impressed in the field and with both bat and ball. Rashid scored 34 not out before taking 3-19.

IPL reporter Arun Gopalakrishnan said: “Rashid Khan became only the fourth cricketer in the history of the IPL to score 30 or more, take three or more wickets and hold on to two catches – all in one IPL match.”
Sunday’s IPL final will see Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings go head-to-head at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The final starts at 2.30pm (UK time) and is live on Sky Sports.

What is the IPL?
The IPL is a Twenty20 cricket tournament featuring eight teams. The 2018 edition will be its 11th year. There will be a total of 60 matches played across India with nine venues hosting games across 51 days.
When and where is the 2018 IPL final?
The final is on Sunday, 27 May at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Which teams play in the IPL?
There are eight IPL franchises: Chennai Super Kings (winners in 2010 and 2011), Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders (winners in 2012 and 2014), Mumbai Indians (winners in 2013, 2015 and 2017), Rajasthan Royals (winners in 2008), Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016).
How does the IPL season work?
The eight teams will play each other twice in a home-and-away format. At the end of the double round-robin group stage, the top four teams will qualify for the play-offs. The top two teams face off in the qualifier one round (22 May) and the third and fourth-placed teams play in the eliminator round (23 May). The winner of qualifier one will go straight through to the final, while the loser will play the victor of the eliminator match on 25 May for a place in the grand final.
How to watch the IPL on TV in the UK
Sky Sports has announced a multi-year deal to broadcast the IPL. From the 2018 season onwards, Sky Sports will show 60 live matches each year in the UK and Ireland.
