Monaco 'accuse Man City of tapping up Kylian Mbappe'

Manchester City could be about to get their knuckles rapped as Monaco consider a complaint to Fifa accusing "important European clubs" of tapping up Kylian Mbappe, reports Sky Sports.

Although a host of clubs have been linked with the teenage sensation this summer, the broadcaster has it on good authority that the French champions "are concerned about the alleged conduct of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain" in particular after their pursuit of the young striker.

Rated as one of the most exciting prospects in the European game, the 18-year-old has been centre of attention during the transfer window with the Daily Mirror reporting that Real Madrid are the latest to come calling.

Arsenal were heavily linked to Mbappe earlier in the summer but the Gunners have apparently escaped the wrath of Monaco. Not so City who are one of the clubs indirectly referred to in a statement issued by Monaco, which pointedly reminded their rivals about European transfer laws.

The Ligue 1 champions said: "To put an end to this unacceptable situation, AS Monaco consider asking the French Football League and the Fifa to commit disciplinary procedures against clubs offenders [sic]."

Meanwhile website Goal.com reports that City have been "given hope" in their quest to sign Serge Aurier after the right-back told Paris Saint-Germain that he wanted to leave the club.

City and Manchester United have both been linked with the French international in recent months and PSG coach Unai Emery told French sports daily L'Equipe that he signed Dani Alves last week because he's set to sell Aurier.

Pep Guardiola, who appears obsessed with full backs this summer, is believed to have the edge over United in the race to sign Aurier with the City manager in the process of completely overhauling his defence after their fragile displays last season.
