Stray cat suspect in ‘attempted murder’

Japanese police have revealed that their principle suspect in an attempted murder case is actually a stray cat. Police were called to the home of an 82-year-old bed-ridden woman who is unable to speak, after her daughter found her with more than 20 cuts to her face. Officials say they have caught a cat with what they think is human blood on its claws.
Man investigates gas leak with lit match
A Michigan man is recovering in hospital after a lit match he was using to find the source of a natural gas leak in his home ignited. The man received first-degree burns to his face and forearms, and firefighters took more than an hour and a half to bring the blaze under control.

Charges filed after man drops cocaine in court
Police in Colorado have filed fresh charges against a 43-year-old man after he reportedly dropped a small package of cocaine in a local courtroom. The man, who was in court for violating his bond on a previous drug charge, has been charged with narcotics possession and a further bond violation.
