Jimmy Fallon's Donald Trump calls Ted Cruz, talks Princess Bride, New York values
On Thursday's Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon put on his Donald Trump costume, pulled out his iPhone, and pretended to have a phone conversation with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), one of his guests on the show. Cruz, who once wanted to be an actor, did his part well, rolling his eyes at the right moments and poking gentle fun at himself ("I'm watching The Princess Bride — for the 843rd time," not the Democratic debate, he told Fallon).
Fallon's Trump asked Cruz some questions, like "How did you win all the delegates in Colorado without anyone even voting?" But Cruz had his best answer when Fallon pressed him on his scorn for "New York values." "When I said 'New York values,' I was was merely trying to say that I value New York, except I was saying it backward, the way Yoda would say it," Cruz said, after promising not to pander to New Yorkers. "I love Yoda," Fallon's Trump replied. "I watch her every morning with Kathie Lee." Cruz had the zinger ready: "Well, and they love wining almost as much as you do, Donald." Watch below. Peter Weber
