New Lion King trailer reveals Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen singing as Timon and Pumbaa
Disney fans who just couldn't wait for their first look at the new Timon and Pumbaa don't need to wait any longer.
The first full trailer for The Lion King debuted on Wednesday, and it features the updated versions of a number of key characters from the original classic, including Mufasa, voiced again by James Earl Jones; Scar, voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor; and Zazu, voiced by John Oliver. The footage also includes our first glimpse at Timon and Pumbaa, voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, respectively.
Just when you might think the whole trailer will go by without a bit of them singing, we get a few seconds of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" at the very end. One shot is also pulled directly from the original film's "Hakuna Matata" sequence, although that song isn't actually heard in the new footage.

The trailer is visually stunning, as expected, and unlike the initial teaser, actually shows the animals speaking. The effect resembles director Jon Favreau's previous Disney live-action remake, The Jungle Book. Several main voices aren't included here, though, including Donald Glover as Simba and Beyoncé as Nala. Oliver's Zazu voice also hasn't been featured in either of the trailers, though the character does make an appearance.
The Lion King hits theaters on July 19 and is the third Disney live-action remake of the year after Dumbo and Aladdin. Watch the trailer below. Brendan Morrow
