The Rock is playing Danny DeVito in the next Jumanji movie

This Christmas, The Rock will star in the role he was born to play: Danny DeVito.
Sony dropped the first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level on Monday morning, starting the week off right by revealing to the world that Dwayne Johnson will apparently spend the entirety of this upcoming film channeling DeVito, because why not?
The last Jumanji installment, Welcome to the Jungle, saw Johnson star as a video game character who in real life is controlled by a timid teenage boy. But this time, it's a crotchety old man, played by DeVito, who is controlling Johnson's avatar, giving The Rock plenty of opportunities to don a ridiculous accent and say "Huh?" a whole bunch.

And that's not all: Kevin Hart is again starring opposite Johnson, but also as a new character: his avatar is being controlled by another crotchety old man, played by Danny Glover. Sadly, Jack Black will no longer be playing a teenage girl as he did so memorably in the previous film, but Johnson and Hart's old man antics should be more than enough to make up for that.
Jumanj: The Next Level hits theaters on Dec. 13, a week before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, setting up a Christmas season that pits the last installment of the Skywalker saga against RockVito in all its glory. Check out the ridiculous first trailer below. Brendan Morrow
