Pochettino rejects Inter Milan rumours and commits to Spurs

Spurs may have waved goodbye to their stadium, but they are not about to lose their manager after Mauricio Pochettino confirmed he would still be in charge next season.

"There are many rumours, but I am committed to the club and have no reason to leave the club," he said, ahead of the Lilywhites game against Leicester. "I will stay here next season."

Pochettino arrived at White Hart Lane from Southampton in May 2014 on a five-year deal and has mounted a genuine title challenge in each of the past two seasons.

This term, Spurs will finish above Arsenal for the first time since 1995 and have secured the club's highest league position since 1963.

They will spend next season at Wembley as White Hart Lane is rebuilt. The club played their Champions League games there during this campaign and underperformed, so there have been some concerns about their prospects next season.

Together with worries that some players could be lured to rival clubs, some Spurs feared the worst.

"Pochettino has faced questions about his own future in recent weeks, amid interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan, with some reports in Italy suggesting his contract includes a buy-out clause," reports The Guardian.

However, Pochettino has previously made it clear he would not coach Barcelona because he is a fan of their local rivals Espanyol, says the BBC.

Nevertheless, the London Evening Standard says: "Reports in Italy suggest the Spurs boss is on Inter Milan’s list of possible coaches for next season, though the Serie A club accept it will be difficult to hire Pochettino, who signed a five-year deal last May."
