Spurs transfer news: Sessegnon and Gameiro tipped to sign
Lilywhites win race for Fulham teenager and eye French striker - all the latest Tottenham transfer news and gossip
Spurs could get one over on Liverpool this summer with the Daily Mirror reporting that Tottenham are poised to pinch Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon from under the noses of the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp's side have been linked with the teenager for several months with the Mirror even claiming that Liverpool had made the 17-year-old "a transfer priority". But the Reds have now allegedly pulled out of their pursuit having "doubted the youngster's commitment to a move to Merseyside".
The same thing happened two years ago when the north London club locked horns with Liverpool over MK Dons teenage sensation Dele Alli. Spurs won that duel - and have since developed Alli into one of the country's top talents - and the Mirror says something similar could happen with Sessegnon, who is now believed to be on the brink of penning a deal with Tottenham.

And could Sessegnon be joined at Wembley next season by Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro? Yes believes the Daily Star which has jumped on reports in Spain that suggest "Atletico and Tottenham are in 'very advanced' negotiations over a summer move for the 30-year-old forward".
The Frenchman arrived in Madrid from Sevilla last summer for £28m, but "has failed to fully convince boss Diego Simeone of his qualities" despite 16 goals in 42 games.
With Mauricio Pochettino still fretting about a lack of cover for Harry Kane in his squad, a deal could be quickly concluded.
Spurs transfer news: Wilfried Zaha signs new Crystal Palace deal
26 May
Sam Allardyce may have walked out on the Eagles this week but winger Wilfried Zaha has pledged his loyalty to Crystal Palace by signing a new five-year-deal, reports the International Business Times.
The news is a blow to Tottenham, who have been tailing the wide man in recent weeks in the hope they could lure him to White Hart Lane.
But despite the uncertainty created by the departure of Allardyce from the manager's chair, the former England and now Ivory Coast international has snubbed interest from Spurs after chairman Steve Parish convinced him to sign a new deal with Palace.
Zaha left Palace once before for a shot at the big time, but his move to Manchester United did not work out and he is obviously still grateful that the Eagles welcomed him back with open arms.
"Palace is in my heart and I don't think the story is over," said the 24-year-old Zaha. "I spoke with Steve and I think I still have more to give this club. The supporters have been amazing and I want us to do more than just stay in the League next year."

Spurs transfer news: Hopes of Douglas Costa deal fade
25 May
If Spurs want to land Douglas Costa in the summer they'll face a fight with Juventus, reports Italian outlet Calciomercato.
Tottenham and Manchester United have both been linked with the Bayern Munich winger this season but the Italian champions are hoping their status as Champions League finalists will lure Costa to Turin.
Italian rag La Stampa claims that the Brazilian has told pals he could soon be on his way out of Bayern Munich at the end of the season and the paper says Juventus "have tabled a £22m bid.
Worryingly for Tottenham, Juventus and Bayern Munich "are on very good terms" having done several business deals in recent seasons, notably the deals that took Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman to Germany, and the smart money suggests Costa could soon be heading in the opposite direction.
Meanwhile ESPN reports that Malaga coach Michel has hinted the team's top scorer could soon be off to pastures new.
Sandro has set Spain alight this season and his form has attracted interest from a host of clubs including Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Villarreal and Everton. But Tottenham are believed to be leading the chase and they could sign him for as little as £5m. That, says Michel, would be a "bargain" for a player who has scored 14 goals in 21 games this season.
"I'm not surprised that the are many teams that want him and are monitoring him," Michel said. "He is a player that everyone wants to sign." Asked about the Tottenham rumours, he said: "We know what the transfer market is like and you have to wait."
