Spurs transfer news: Real Madrid keen on keeper Hugo Lloris
3 March
It sounds as though Real Madrid have been playing with a box of matches because, according to Talksport, something has "reignited their interest" in Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris
Last month it was claimed that Real had a shortlist of two in their search for a shotstopper, and that Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois and Manchester United's David de Gea were the men in question.

But Talksport brings news of reports in French sports daily L'Equipe which claim Lloris has now emerged as a third option, with the Gallic gloveman something of a favourite of Real gaffer Zinedine Zidane.
Another reason for their interest, according to Talksport, is that the Spanish club believe that the France international "is the easiest to attract" out of the three, particularly if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League. Admittedly Lloris only signed a new £100,000-a-week contract with Tottenham at the end of last year but when has a football contract ever stood in the way of a sackful of cash?
Spurs transfer news: Kevin Gameiro to replace flop Vincent Janssen?
21 February
Atletico Madrid are ready to jettison Kevin Gameiro and that's put Tottenham on alert for a potential swoop, claims The Sun.
Mauricio Pochettino was in the hunt for the French firecracker last summer but lost out to the Spanish giants, who paid Sevilla £35m for his services. But things haven't worked out for Gameiro at his new club and the Sun says Atletico gaffer Diego Simeone is ready to offload the goal-shy Gallic striker.
That suits Pochettino who has come to similar conclusions about Vincent Janssen, whom he bought from AZ Alkmaar over the summer for £17m and who has yet to prove his worth at White Hart Lane.
According to the Sun Spurs will look to sell Janssen and replace him with Gameiro, although it's reported that Atletico will want to recoup most of the exorbitant sum they forked out for him nine months ago.
The Daily Star says that Spurs have "entered the race" to sign Hull ace Harry Maguire. The 23-year-old centre back has already been checked out by Everton and Southampton and now Tottenham are on the starting blocks with Pochettino anxious to bring in cover for the increasingly injury-prone pair of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
The versatile Maguire has impressed for Hull this season and could be available in the summer for a reasonable £15m.
Spurs transfer news: Harry Winks agrees new long-term deal
15 February
Inexplicably he still has not been given the number 40 shirt, but promising playmaker Harry Winks has agreed a new deal with Spurs - his third contract extension in the space of a year.
It's a measure of how highly the club regard the 21-year-old Winks that they have offered him another extension, which will keep him at the club until 2022.
Earlier deals in March and September last year secured his future until 2021 but according to the Evening Standard the latest revision of his contract adds a year to his deal and will boost his wages to "around the £25,000-a-week mark".
Although he's still not a regular in the starting line-up, manager Mauricio Pochettino rates him highly, and the new contract has gone done well with Winks. "I've been playing for Tottenham since I was six, but I feel like I'm gradually getting a more important role," he said.
If Sky Sports is correct, Nabil Bentaleb could soon be on his way out of White Hart Lane with the broadcaster claiming that the 22-year-old midfielder "is on the verge of joining Schalke".
Currently on a season-long loan with Schalke, Bentaleb has impressed with the German outfit and they now want to make his short-term stay permanent. They'll do this by triggering "a compulsory purchase clause in the Algeria international's contract" and assuming Tottenham raise no objections, Bentaleb will no longer be a Lilywhite.
Spurs transfer news: Harry Kane pledges future to Tottenham
8 February
It is a good time to be a Tottenham supporter. Not only is Arsenal's season coming apart at the seams but north London's number one striker, Harry Kane, has told fans that he sees his long-term future at White Hart Lane.
The 23-year-old has become one of Europe's most sought-after goalscorers in the last three seasons, netting 63 times in 102 league matches for the Lilywhites. According to Talksport that has attracted the interest of some big guns, including Real Madrid who "have been monitoring" his progress at the Lane. Some reports in Spain have even suggested that Kane could earn £500,000-per-week if he followed Gareth Bale to the Bernabeu.
But in an interview with Talksport, Kane had this message for the fans: "I am happy at Tottenham. I go into work every day with a smile on my face and that is important... everything is progressing as I want it to be and as the club want it to be so, as long as that continues, I don't see why I can't stay there for the rest of my career."
As for the Real rumours, the England frontman said: "Some people are motivated by money - I'm not one of them. I am motivated by trying to win trophies. Money is a bonus of the job, but it doesn't always make you happy."
In other news, Old Trafford outcast Luke Shaw is being tipped for a move to Spurs.
The Daily Express says the 21-year-old defender is likely to offloaded by Manchester United after falling victim to injury and loss of form this season, and the paper says that Tottenham are waiting to pounce. Shaw and manager Mauricio Pochettino worked together during their time at Southampton and the Express claims the "Argentine remains a huge admirer of the left-back".
