An all-new version of BMW’s coupe-shared X4 crossover has been unveiled ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show, which runs from 8 to 18 March.
Arriving just four years after the first-generation model launched, the new X4 is based on the company’s boxier X3 SUV and is tipped to rival the Mercedes GLC Coupe and Jaguar F-Pace, says Auto Express.
The German car giant has completely reworked the sleek SUV’s styling, which features a “very different rear end” compared to the outgoing model, the magazine says. This includes slimmer LED tail lights that wrap around the corners of the vehicle.

There are also several elements borrowed from the X3, adds the magazine, including the front grille, bumper and headlights.
The X4’s revamped interior houses the most recent version of BMW’s iDrive infotainment system, says Autocar. The iDrive system can be accessed through the standard 6.5ins touchscreen. A 10.3ins version is available as an optional extra.
The magazine says there’s also more legroom for passengers in the back seats, as the X4’s wheelbase is 27mm longer than the previous version. Boot space has also been upped by 25 litres to 525 litres.
Other changes over the first-generation model include an M Sport X trim level, says Evo, which features grey styling highlights and optional 21ins wheels.
