Inner voices

A new wearable device claims it can read your thoughts - well, not exactly. Alter Ego uses sensors to detect tiny electrical impulses in the face produced when a person speaks inside their head, and then responds to their questions or commands. The creator of the device believes it may one day replace the likes of Siri and Alexa as a digital personal assistant, but also could offer a lifeline to people with medical conditions which prevent them from speaking out loud.
