Sky has launched a new “Brexit-free” version of its rolling news channel, in response to evidence that more and more Britons are actively avoiding the news because they are tired of the Brexit saga. While no-one can deny that there are plenty of newsworthy issues currently getting short-shrift in the media, should we really have the option to “opt-out” of the most pressing issues of the day simply because we are fed up of hearing about them?

A new Ofsted report says the number of children educated at home in England is “increasing rapidly”, having risen 27% in the year to November 2018.
