Wanted: A better selfie
An Australian teenager has asked media outlets not to use her arrest mugshot and instead offered a more flattering photo via Facebook. Amy Sharp, 18, had escaped from police custody when she sent 7 News a message saying: "Can you use this photo, please and thank you - Yours Truly, Amy Sharp xx". She was re-arrested a few hours later.

Robert Duvall's neighbour downs 'paparazzi drone'
A 65-year-old Virginian woman has shot down a drone she suspected of being used to take photos of her neighbour, actor Robert Duvall. Jennifer Youngman had returned from church when she heard the device flying towards her home. "I loaded my shotgun and took the safety off and this thing came flying over my trees," she said. "I blasted it to smithereens."
Lightning strike kills 300 reindeer
More than 300 reindeer were killed in central Norway last week, apparently by a single lightning strike. Environment agency spokesman Kjartan Knutsen said the animals commonly stay close together during bad weather, which may account for the unusually large number of deaths. Officials are considering what to do with the carcasses.
