Spice World tour: how to get tickets to see Spice Girls live

It’s official. The Spice Girls are making a comeback with Geri Horner, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Mel B all set for a reunion tour in 2019.

Victoria Beckham will not be joining them for their Spice World tour but, despite her lack of involvement, “she is expected to profit millions from the tour thanks to a significant stake in the group’s music rights”, says the London Evening Standard.

Mel B last week made a dig at Beckham after dressing up as her fellow Spice Girl and holding a sign reading: “NO I AM NOT GOING ON TOUR.”

But she did tell ITV’s Loose Women that the door was “100%” open for Beckham to join them if she changed her mind.

The girl group announced the news in a video posted to their social media accounts.

Speculation about the Spice Girls reuniting for a tour has bubbled since they last joined together to perform at the London Olympics in 2012.

The Girl Power group officially split up in 2000, “but their fanbase hasn’t disbanded one bit”, says iNews.

How can you get tickets?

The group has said that tickets will go on sale on Saturday 10 November at 10.30am on Ticketmaster.

Prices have yet to be revealed but “based on the group's last tour in 2007, fans will have to be quick”, says The Sun.

After selling out in just 38 seconds, tickets “were soon advertised for resale with asking prices as high as £900”, the paper adds, while legitimate tickets were originally priced at around £115.

Why are they reuniting?

The girl group got back together earlier this year to confirm their plans in celebration of the release of their debut single Wannabe in 1996. The decision to tour again is reportedly at the behest of Simon Fuller, who managed the Spice Girls to the peak of their fame in the 1990s and is said to be backing the proposed tour.

The group are expected to make their first reunion appearance on Jonathan Ross’s ITV programme on Saturday night.

News of the group’s return has prompted a mixed response. Fans took to Twitter to support the four women.

But Popjustice editor Peter Robinson told The Guardian he remained unsure of the decision. “Last time they toured, it felt as if there was unfinished business to sort out, particularly as it was the full lineup,” he said. “But after that massive tour and the release of new music a few years ago, I wonder what really remains unfinished in 2018.”
