Wenger v Mourinho: Arsenal manager's best feuds - video
The run-in with old adversary Jose Mourinho was the latest in a long line of bust-ups for Arsene Wenger
Arsene Wenger's touchline bust-up with his nemesis Jose Mourinho grabbed the headlines after Arsenal lost to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The pair have been feuding for years and once again failed to shake hands at the final whistle. But Wenger's feud with Mourinho is by no means the first involving the Gunners manager.
During his 18 years at Highbury and the Emirates, Wenger has developed a reputation as an articulate and urbane manager, but he has also let his temper boil over on more than one occasion and has clashed with his Premier League rivals and the authorities on a regular basis down the years. Here are some of Wenger's more notable spats.
Arsene Wenger v Alan Pardew

Back in 2006 Pardew was in charge of West Ham, and couldn't contain himself after Marlon Harewood scored a late winner against the Gunners. His celebrations did not go down well with Arsene Wenger, however, and the pair squared up and exchanged shoves before being pulled apart. "It was nothing personal, I was celebrating the goal," said Pardew afterwards. "Arsene seemed to have a problem with that, probably rightly."
Arsene Wenger v Martin Jol
Wenger has seen off ten Spurs managers during his time in charge of Arsenal, but rarely has he tried to dispatch them during a match. But in 2006 the Frenchman blew his top with opposite number Martin Jol after Spurs scored against the Gunners while two Arsenal players were down injured. "I don't know what he is on about," said Jol afterwards. "I didn't even see it, I was watching Edgar Davids."
Arsene Wenger v Mark Hughes
The Arsenal boss has a strained relationship with the current Stoke manager, which dates back to Hughes's time at Blackburn, who became something of a bogey-club for the Gunners. Things reached a nadir in 2009, when Hughes was in charge of Man City and the pair refused to shake hands after a Carling Cup match. Rather more entertaining was Hughes's reaction to Wenger's apparent time wasting in a match between Arsenal and Blackburn in 2005.
Arsene Wenger v Kenny Dalglish
Wenger appears to get under the skin of some managers, and Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was less than complimentary towards the Arsenal manager after seeing his side win a penalty in the 13th minute of stoppage time at the Emirates in 2011. Wenger was furious at the decision, but Dalglish told him in no uncertain terms what he could do with his opinions as the two men came face-to-face on the touchline.
Arsene Wenger v Alex Ferguson
The daddy of all Premier League managerial rivalries, at least until Mourinho arrived on the scene, was between the Arsenal and Man United bosses. There was no love lost between Wenger and Ferguson in the late 1990s and 2000s as the two sides vied for top honours in the Premier League. The most infamous incident came after Man United ended Arsenal's 49-game unbeaten run, and Ferguson ended up covered in pizza after a huge bust-up in the tunnel.
Arsene Wenger v the referee
Wenger doesn't just annoy his opposite numbers, sometimes he annoys the match officials as well. In 2011 he was sent to the stands at Old Trafford for kicking a water bottle after the Gunners had a goal ruled out for offside. His decision to stand on top of the tunnel was inspired.
