Today’s back pages: Lionesses are ‘White hot’, Hartley axed, Juventus want Pogba ‘home’
A round up of the sport headlines from UK newspapers on 20 June
Lionesses top group
Metro reports that it was “all White on the night” for England as they finished top of group D at the Fifa Women’s World Cup.
The Lionesses were “White hot”, says The Daily Telegraph, as two goals from Ellen White secured Phil Neville’s side a 2-0 victory over Japan.

In the round of 16 on Sunday England will play against one of the best third-placed teams - China, New Zealand, Cameroon, Chile or Thailand.
Japan are also through to the last-16 after finishing second behind England. However, there was heartbreak for Scotland as they ended bottom of the group. The Scots let slip a three-goal lead in the 3-3 draw against Argentina.
Come home, Pogba
The Daily Mirror says that Juventus are confident they can beat Real Madrid to the signing of Paul Pobga. Manchester United star Pogba previously played for Juve and the Italian champions want him to return “home” to Turin.
Metro adds that the French World Cup winner prefers a reunion with Juventus over a move to the Spanish capital.
Jones wields the axe
England head coach Eddie Jones names his Rugby World Cup training squad today and according to the Daily Mail there’s no place for former captains Dylan Hartley and Chris Robshaw.
Hooker Hartley has failed to recover from a knee injury, The Times reports, while flanker Robshaw missed the autumn internationals after knee surgery in October.
Scrum-half Danny Care is also expected to be left out of the training squad.
