Players linked with United include Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld but it’s understood that the Portuguese manager has already been “agitated by a failure to properly sit down with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward on targets”.
Alexis to leave Old Trafford?
Alexis Sanchez is prepared to walk away from Manchester United in the new year. The Chilean forward, who signed from Arsenal in January, is frustrated by his lack of playing time at Old Trafford. He will seek a move “if he continues to be exiled by Jose Mourinho”, says the London Evening Standard.
Ozil rejects offers from Asia
Mesut Ozil’s agent says the German midfielder turned down lucrative offers from Asia to sign a new contract at Arsenal earlier this year. The London Evening Standard understands these offers were worth “a staggering £1m-a-week”. Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut said: “We had some really big offers from Asia, there were some crazy offers. But for Mesut, money was by no means the biggest factor.”
Arnautovic seeks Champions League football
West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic is ready to leave the club because he wants to play in the Champions League. The striker, who has scored five goals in ten matches this season, told the Austrian newspaper Kurier: “I’m 29, so that’s the best age. It’s clear that I want to compete with the best players.” (The Guardian)
Spurs ready to bid £35m for Barella
Tottenham are seeking a replacement for injured midfielder Mousa Dembele and have set their sights on Cagliari ace Nicolo Barella. Spurs are ready to bid £35m for the 21-year-old Italian international but could face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool. (The Sun)
