Federer eases past Lacko
Defending champion Roger Federer was again on great form as he comfortably beat Lukas Lacko 6-4, 6-4, 6-1.
The men’s top seed has now won 26 successive sets at SW19, the BBC reports, and in the third round he will face Ivo Karlovic or Jan Lennard Struff.

Eight-time Wimbledon winner Federer told BBC Sport: “I think I played very well. I felt good out there. Less nerves than in the first round. I knew he had the rhythm and I knew I had to put him away.
“I am happy how I am hitting the ball, good concentration on my service games and I’m able to mix it up with some slices and coming over on returns. You can control service games more than return games, but most important is to have fun as well.
“Of course, you have to play the percentages, but if you do that too much it becomes boring - so I like to mix it up. That worked out well for me today.”
Milos Raonic, the 2016 runner-up, is also through to the third round after winning three tie-breaks against John Millman. Canadian Raonic won the match 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) and he will play qualifier Dennis Novak next.
Swan bows out
Katie Swan’s Wimbledon run is over after she was beaten 0-6, 3-6 by 29th seed Mihaela Buzarnescu.
The 19-year-old from Bristol became the first British teenager to reach the second round since Laura Robson in 2013, Wimbledon.com reports.
After her loss Swan said on Twitter: “Tough one today but overall a great experience. First main draw slam win, first top 50 win & into the top 200 for the first time.”
Williams sisters both progress, Wozniacki out
Serena Williams and sister Venus Williams both won their second-round matches today.
Five-time champion Venus was a 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 victor against Alexandra Dulgheru while seven-time winner Serena defeated Viktoriya Tomova 6-1, 6-4.
There was a shock in the women’s singles as second seed Caroline Wozniacki was knocked out after losing 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 to unseeded Ekaterina Makarova.
Australian Open champion Wozniacki had saved five match points against world No.35 Makarova.
