As these exclusive cars carry six-figure price tags at their very lowest, each model features only the most lavish of interiors and the most elegant of bodywork. Manufacturers know that if buyers are to part with their cash they must feel thoroughly indulged.

But while we may be familiar with many of the recent offerings from luxury carmakers, such as the new Aston Martin Vantage and Ferrari Portofino, there are a number of other highly desirable car models that often slip under the radar.

These cars, which are produced in very small numbers, boast outstanding designs, often by Italian companies, and small teams of dedicated coachbuilders. In some cases, manufacturers allow their racing teams to build new models packed with similar technology to their competition cars. These limited edition cars often sell out very quickly.
