Arsenal transfer news: £50m for Morata, Brozovic bid fails
11 March
Are Arsenal a step closer to signing a striker who can help them win the league? Metro believes so and reports that the Gunners have made contact with the agents of Juventus's Alvaro Morata over a possible deal this summer.
The 23-year-old frontman has been linked with Arsenal in the past and it is claimed that manager Arsene Wenger is desperate to add some firepower to his squad this summer.

However, the Gunners could face competition from Morata's former club, Real Madrid, who are keen to have him back at the Bernabeu.
But the prospect of regular first-team football at the Emirates could be key to persuading the forward to head to England - and there will also be financial incentives, says the paper. "It's claimed Wenger has informed the Spaniard's representatives that Arsenal could pay as much as £50m to bring him to the Emirates Stadium."
One player Morata won't apparently be linking up with in north London next season is Marcelo Brozovic. The Daily Mirror reports that Inter Milan have rejected an offer of £11.5m from the Gunners for the player as they value the midfielder at around £20m.
"Inter are believed to be in talks with Brozovic over a new deal, if only to further to bolster his ever-rising value," says the paper, which adds that Arsenal will also face competition for his signature from Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Arsenal transfer news: war with Spurs over Duda and Dembele
10 March
Arsenal and Spurs are fighting tooth and nail these days with rumours suggesting the two north London clubs are squabbling over summer transfer targets just days after the pair fought out a thrilling 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane.
While the Daily Express has Spurs in pole position to pip the Gunners to the hand of Rennes striker Ousmane Dembele, Metro reports that Arsene Wenger is ahead in the race to sign Legia Warsaw attacking midfielder Ondrej Duda.
The 21-year-old has been likened to Paris Saint-Germain ace Angel di Maria on account of his skill set and though rumours have linked him to Portuguese side Sporting Braga, Metro says Arsenal have been "tracking" Duda for a while. They take their information from Portuguese rag, Record, although the paper points out that as well as Spurs, Southampton, Newcastle and West Ham are "all interested" in the silky Slovakian international.
Do Arsenal need another goalkeeper? The Daily Star says they do with the paper reporting that the Gunners "are ready to rival Liverpool" for Cologne gloveman Timo Horn. Admittedly they take their information from German tabloid, Bild, which states that the 22-year-old is being eyed up by the two Premier League clubs with both ready to activate his £7m release clause in the summer.
Arsenal transfer news: Gunners join race to sign Karim Bellarabi
9 March
Having brushed Hull aside 4-0 in Tuesday night's FA Cup replay, Arsenal are said to be one of several clubs stalking Bayer Leverkusen's Karim Bellarabi.
The Daily Star claims that the Bundesliga giants want to "get rid" of the 25-year-old winger as coach Roger Schmidt and sporting director Rudi Voeller prepare to overhaul their squad following a disappointing season. Leverkusen are 27 points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich and it will be all change in the summer.
German paper Bild says that Bellarabi is one of the players to be axed and that's come to the attention of Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United. Apparently the Gunners "have been watching him for some time" and they are leading the race to sign the wide man.
But another German club have made it clear to Arsenal, Manchester United and any other club interested in signing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang that he's not for sale.
The Sun reports the words of Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans Joachim Watzke, who told the paper when asked about the frontman's future: "The position is clear. Auba plays for Borussia Dortmund and the next years he will play at Borussia Dortmund. No question. There is no get-out clause.
Arsenal transfer news: West Ham prepare £26m bid for Walcott
08 March
As Arsenal prepare to play Hull tonight in their crucial FA Cup fifth round replay, there comes an unwanted distraction from the pages of the Daily Star, which claims that West Ham are courting Theo Walcott and see the inconsistent winger as a marquee signing to take with them when they move to the Olympic Stadium.
It's said that the Hammers are ready to test Arsenal's resolve with a £26m bid for Walcott, who's never fully won over the Gunners fans despite ten years at the club. The Star predicts that Walcott "could be on the move" in the summer after growing frustrated at his lack of regular game time under Arsene Wenger in recent seasons.
But hold on, what's this in the Daily Mail? According to them it's not Walcott that West Ham are after but teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The paper claims that Liverpool, Manchester City, United and Chelsea are all "monitoring developments" at the Emirates, where the 'Ox' is currently sidelined with a knee injury. Apparently Oxlade Chamberlain is "keen to play more regularly when fit" and he believes West Ham will give him the best chance of regular game time over his more illustrious suitors.
Finally, the Daily Star says that Manchester City are ready "to pip" Arsenal to Emre Mor. The Danish ace has also been on the radar of Manchester United and Liverpool but it seems the Sky Blues will win the race to land the 18-year-old winger, currently on the books of Danish side Nordsjaelland.
Arsenal transfer news: Grzegorz Krychowiak back in the frame
07 March
Trailing Leicester by eight points and without a victory in their last five matches, Arsenal fans need a boost and Metro provides it with a blast from the past and the news that the Gunners "are ready to seal the transfer of Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak".
Manager Arsene Wenger is said to be a "big fan" of the Poland international and has been linked to him in many previous transfer windows. Now, says the paper, he wants him to replace Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta, both of whom will leave the Emirates at the end of the season.
The strapping six-footer is just the sort of tough-tackling defensive midfielder that Arsenal so desperately need, though Metro warns that the north London outfit "will face competition" from Manchester City. Sevilla have slapped a minimum £25m asking price on the 26-year-old Krychowiak and will sell to the highest bidder this summer.
Meanwhile it's the other Manchester club who are threatening to hijack Arsenal's hopes of landing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. According to the Daily Mail, United are poised to offer the German club £70m for the Gabon goal machine, a bid that Arsenal cannot match as it will "wipe out Arsene Wenger's transfer budget for the summer".
Arsenal transfer news: shock Benteke move - Isco to follow?
04 March
As Arsenal's latest tilt at the Premier League title goes up in smoke, could a new forward line do the business next season?
With Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez firing blanks, the Gunners are rumoured to be sizing up alternatives in the form of Christian Benteke and Isco.
Belgian striker Benteke has endured a nightmare season at Liverpool, where he has fallen behind Divock Origi in the pecking order. It looks as though manager Jurgen Klopp will offload the £30m flop in the summer - and Metro picks up on reports in Spain that suggest the Gunners could be waiting in the wings.
"Arsenal are the most logical destination for the 25-year-old, with the Gunners desperately struggling for goals in recent weeks," says the paper, which warns Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United could also be interested.
The main stumbling block could be Liverpool's reluctance to sell to an English rival, "but it’s also unlikely that many foreign teams would be able to afford the big Belgian".
If Benteke heads to the Emirates, he could forge a partnership with midfielder Isco, who, according to the Daily Mirror, will be sold by Real Madrid this summer.
Arsenal have a longstanding interest in the Spaniard, who would cost around £25m, and Arsene Wenger is always looking to snap up creative midfielders. But once again, the Gunners may encounter competition, this time from the two Manchester clubs as well as Chelsea.
But The Sun believes the answer to Arsenal's goal drought lies elsewhere and claims Wenger will go after another long-term target this summer - Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain,
"Higuain rejected the Emirates in favour of a move to Italy in 2013. But now Arsene Wenger looks set to go back in for Europe’s leading marksman - who has netted more than Arsenal’s frontmen combined," says the paper
Arsenal transfer news: Gundogan to finally become a Gunner
3 March
They've been linked with him as many times as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been injured, but are Arsenal finally going to get their hands on Ilkay Gundogan this summer?
According to Talksport the Borussia Dortmund playmaker is going to be targeted by the Gunners with the broadcaster claiming that German rag Bild believes Dortmund "are finally open to selling the £23m-rated midfielder".
Gundogan is out of contract in 2017 and Bild says the petulant playmaker is "refusing to pen an extension". As a result Arsenal, whose interest in him stretches back to 2014, are gearing up to make Dortmund an offer they can't refuse.
But a word of warning for Arsenal from Talksport: it claims that Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City are also interested in Gundogan, who arrived at Dortmund from Nurnberg in 2011 and is now rated one of the Bundesliga's most valuable players.
Meanwhile the Gunners could be about to face off against Liverpool with the last club standing earning the right to sign Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell.
According to the Daily Star the clubs "are set to lock horns" this summer after their scouts returned favourable reports to their respective managers. The Star says that Arsenal failed in a £4m bid for Chilwell in January but they'll be back in the summer with a higher bid as Arsene Wenger looks to find a less injury-prone player than Kieran Gibbs.
But Liverpool are also circling with the Star claiming that Jurgen Klopp wants the Foxes defender to replace Jose Enrique.
