2. Prestige Eco Non-Stick Saucepan & Frying Pan Set
Made from 75% recycled aluminium, the five pans in this set (three saucepans, two frying pans) have a plant-based, palm oil-free non-stick coating. Oven-safe to 150°C, they are best washed by hand.
3. Lakeland Classic 5-Piece Pan Set
With five of the most-used pans – three lidded saucepans (16cm, 18cm and 20cm) with double-sided draining holes, a 14cm milk pan and a 24cm frying pan – this is a solid, good-value set. Pans are induction-friendly and oven-safe to 180°C.
4. Tefal Ingenio 13-piece Pan Set
Tefal’s space-saving design allows the pans to stack together. The set comes with airtight plastic lids for storage. Without the detachable handles, the pans are oven-safe to 260°C, and they’re dishwasher-safe, too.
5. Copper King Saucepan Set
Made from lightweight aluminium, this trio – a 14cm milk pan with pourer and two lidded pans of 16cm and 18cm – would make an excellent starter kit. The pans are suitable for all stove tops, and are dishwasher-safe.
6. Le Creuset Cast Iron Showstopper Set
The beautiful Showstopper set from Le Creuset is a wonderful thing to have on hand when cooking for a dinner party, or for a big family. It isn’t cheap, but it does make for great presentation.
7. Staub Cast Iron Cookware Set
This versatile three-piece set offers chic, minimal designs and heavyweight construction. As well as doing its job flawlessly, each item looks and feels like something to cherish.
8. Circulon Momentum Hard Anodised 5-Piece Cookware Set
Circulon’s Momentum cookware set is brilliantly balanced. These pots and pans are sturdy yet light enough for easy handling, high-quality yet low maintenance.
9. Tefal 5-Piece Essential Pots and Pans Set
Tefal’s “Thermo-Spot” technology – a red circle in the middle of each pan – changes in appearance when the pan reaches the right temperature to cook. It’s quite useful for novice or nervous home cooks.
