Guardiola inherited the majority of this season's squad from predecessor Manuel Pellegrini and he wants to have a summer revamp after realising the balance in the Sky Blues squad is wonky. Other names on the Spaniard's shopping list include Monaco's Benjamin Mendy, Manchester United defender Luke Shaw and Lyon defensive midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
Current City players who perhaps should start think about clearing their dressing room locker include, according to the Sun, Yaya Toure, Jesus Navas, Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna and Willy Caballero.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express says City are "ready to break the world record transfer fee" to sign Kylian Mbappe.
Described by the paper as the "Monaco striking sensation", the 18-year-old has become the hottest property in European football after netting five times in seven Champions League games this season.
The Express says the elite of the European game have sent their scouts to France to check out the teenage sensation and Guardiola is apparently conscious of the fact that if he wants to land the starlet, "he must be prepared to pay more than the £89m splashed out on Paul Pogba last summer by Manchester United".
The Express says that Real Madrid are expected to offer the stiffest competition for Mbappe's signature, with the Spanish giants also keen to invest in the young Gallic goal-scoring machine.

Man City transfer news: Joe Hart 'on brink of Liverpool move'
19 April
Having had his heart broken by Pep Guardiola last summer, unwanted Manchester City keeper Joe Hart is on the brink of accepting the advances of Liverpool, reports The Sun.
The paper claims that the England No.1 will see out his loan spell at Italian club Torino before moving to Anfield in the summer.
Hart, who celebrates his 30th birthday today, has two years to run on his City contract but Guardiola has made it clear he still sees him as "surplus to requirements". So Hart will join the Reds in a £20m move after Torino's failed attempt to keep him on loan for another season.
Jesus Navas could resurrect his career with Roma, claims Italian paper Corriere dello Sport. The winger is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to leave the Etihad on a free transfer.
His former club Sevilla were at one stage leading the chase for Navas but now Roma have muscled in on the action, with the Serie A side believing that he still has a few good seasons left in the tank. The 31-year-old has apparently been offered a three-year deal by Roma, a year more than the package presented to him by Sevilla.
In addition Navas, at one stage rumoured to be hankering after another year at City, is tempted by Roma's offer to pay him €3m (£2.5m) per season in wages.
Man City transfer news: Leonardo Bonucci 'loves' English football
13 April
Italian defender drops come-and-get-me hint and Palace admit they may sell Wilfried Zaha - latest Man City transfer news and gossip
Leonardo Bonucci has been sending out signals that he's ready to move to the Premier League, reports Talksport, and that will put Manchester City and Chelsea on high alert.
The 29-year-old defender has been linked to both clubs in recent months and in an interview with French publication So Foot he dropped the mother of all hints that he is ready to leave Juventus.
Explaining that the Premier League "fascinates" him, Bonucci said: "When I can, I watch English games, and not only for the quality of the players on display. I'm hot-headed, and I love the passion that exudes from their packed stands."
Talksport points out that Bonucci signed a new Juventus deal as recently as December but with the average football contract as hard to break as an Easter egg it could be that the Italian champions will listen to serious offers at the end of the season.
Meanwhile Metro says that City and United are jostling for position in the race to sign Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old defender is apparently "mulling" over a new deal from PSG and that's prompted both the Manchester clubs to put a tail on Aurier in the hope they may be able to lure him from the French capital in the summer.
Finally, the London Evening Standard reports that Crystal Palace gaffer Sam Allardyce has admitted it would be hard to hang on to Wilfried Zaha if a big offer landed on his desk.
City and Tottenham have both apparently been sniffing around the Eagles winger of late, and asked about the possibility of a big money move in the summer, Allardyce said: "Wilf, us and the clubs that want him, will decide his future in the end. There is always a point where it may be impossible to turn down what is offered... hopefully, we do not get to that point for a long time but it may be a possibility."
Man City transfer news: Bayern Munich ruled out of Aubameyang hunt
11 April
There may be a glimmer of hopes for Manchester City as they try to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Etihad, with Talksport reporting that Borussia Dortmund will not sell the Gabon goal machine to domestic rivals Bayern Munich but are open to offers from Barcelona or Real Madrid - and, by extension, the Premier League.
In conversation with German broadcaster Sport 1, Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke was asked about the future of the 27-year-old Aubameyang, who has been linked to Manchester City in recent months as well as the two Spanish giants.
"I think he will stay with us," Watzke said. "But if Real Madrid or Barcelona come with a big offer, then we have to discuss it."
Watzke didn't namecheck City but Pep Guardiola has been a long-time admirer of Aubameyang, and the fact Dortmund are willing to sell if the money is right could lead to his tabling a bid in the summer.
Man City transfer news: Guardiola wants Wilfried Zaha
Manchester City are looking to pinch Wilfried Zaha from the under the noses of Tottenham, as The Sun reveals that the Crystal Palace winger "is the shock name topping" the summer shopping list of Pep Guardiola.
For months the Lilywhites have been linked with the Ivory Coast ace, with reports recently suggesting they were ready to table a £25m bid for the 24-year-old. But according to the Sun Guardiola "is planning a shake-up to make his megabucks side Premier League title contenders next season" and as part of that revolution he is ready to pay Palace whatever they want for the wide-man.
What might work against City, however, is the fact Zaha spent an unhappy two years with Manchester United having been one of Alex Ferguson's last signings. He soon moved back to Palace and is said to prefer the capital to anywhere else in England.
Meanwhile, The Sun also says that City will have to see off interest from West Ham, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton if they want to sign Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford in the summer. The 23-year-old has been in superb form for the Black Cats this season, one of the few bright spots in a campaign that seems destined to end in relegation.
If Sunderland do go down, says the Sun, then Pickford will demand to leave and that's likely to spark a summer bidding war. Sunderland are said to want £15m for the gloveman, who "is seen as an England number one of the future". Apparently Guardiola has been impressed by Pickford's form at the Stadium of Light and is likely to table a bid as he looks to move on Claudio Bravo after a disappointing stint at the Etihad.
Man City transfer news: Ter Stegen could solve keeper crisis
6 April
Guardiola still keen on Barcelona stopper as he hunts replacement for Claudio Bravo - latest Man City transfer news and gossip
Manchester City's search for a reliable shotstopper has taken another twist with The Sun reporting that Barcelona gloveman Marc-Andre ter Stegen has not ruled out the possibility that he could swap the Camp Nou for the Etihad in the summer.
The German goalkeeper was "targeted" by City gaffer Pep Guardiola last summer when Joe Hart was given his marching orders from Manchester, but he slipped through the Spaniard's fingers and instead Guardiola bought Claudio Bravo.
Unfortunately for Guadiola, the Chilean keeper has gone on to let quite a few balls slip through his fingers this season, and that is why Guardiola wants to have another crack at signing Ter Stegen the end of the season.
Asked by the Spanish press if he given them a guarantee he would be back at Barcelona next season, Ter Stegen said: "I don't know... you never know what will come afterwards. I'm living right now, that's the most important thing."
Man City transfer news: Real Madrid want Thiago Alcantara
4 April
If Manchester City want to sign Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara they'll have to see off competition from Real Madrid, claims Talksport.
The broadcaster says that the Spanish giants "are considering an audacious summer swoop" for the 25-year-old midfielder, and that could put Pep Guardiola's nose out of joint.
A star for Bayern Munich this season, Alcantara is "wanted by several of their European rivals" with Guardiola apparently "keen to work" with him again after coaching him during his time in charge at Barcelona and Bayern.
However, the longstanding relationship between the two is likely to stand City in good stead when the expected bidding war erupts in the summer but crucial to their chances of landing the Spaniard is whether they can offer him Champions League football next season.
Currently in fourth spot, but with Manchester United breathing down their necks, City will only land Alcantara if they finish in the top four - and if they are ready to meet Bayern's asking price of £76m.
Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News picks up on reports that defender Pablo Zabaleta could be leaving the Etihad to see out hois twilight years at West Ham.
"The 32-year-old is one of a number of players who are out of contract in the summer," says the paper. "And with Pep reportedly looking for a defensive overhaul there might not be any place for him in the new plans."
