Man City transfer news: Vincent Kompany unconcerned by exit rumours
15 April
This is one Kompany that's not about to have a closing down sale. That's the message from Jacques Lichtenstein, agent of Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany, who's future has been the subject of heated debate in recent weeks.

The 30-year-old has had an injury-ravaged season, leading to speculation he could be forced out when Pep Guardiola takes over as manager in the summer. But Metro reports that Lichtenstein is unconcerned about his client's prospects under Guadiola.
"Vincent is stronger than ever," he said of the player who's only managed 19 games for the Citizens this season. "We are in touch on a daily basis and he's absolutely not worried about his future."
Meanwhile the Daily Mail claims that City are "moving closer" to signing a pair of teenagers in Lorenzo Gonzalez and Amadou Diawara. The former is a Swiss Under-16 international who "has been courted by Real Madrid" but is close to agreeing terms with City, while Bologna midfielder Diawara is also on the brink of becoming a Sky Blue. According to the Mail the Italian club "are prepared to cash in on the 18-year-old" and expect City to hand over £14m in exchange for the Guinea-born teenage playmaker.
Man City transfer news: Guardiola in for Oxlade-Chamberlain
11 April
He's yet to get his feet under the desk at the Etihad, but already Pep Guardiola has embarked upon his rebuilding programme at Manchester City.
According to The Sun, the incoming Sky Blues boss has "stepped up his attempt to replace Yaya Toure with Ilkay Gundogan", while also making discreet enquiries about Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Sun claims that Guardiola, still gainfully employed by Bayern Munich until the end of the season, "has spoken to the Borussia Dortmund’s representatives" with a view to making a £25m move for Gundogan. Apparently he sees the midfielder as the man to replace the ageing Yaya Toure, who has been linked with the Chinese Super League in recent weeks.
As for the 'Ox', rumours have been circulating for a while in north London that the 22-year-old is unhappy with his lack of regular game time at the Emirates, and the Sun says Guardiola is a fan of the Gunner and "believes the England star can play central midfield as well as a winger".
But the Spaniard better not dilly-dally if he's serious about signing up Oxlade-Chamberlain because the Daily Star says that Southampton are "trying to persuade" him to return to the south coast. The Saints offloaded the wideman to Arsenal in 2011 for £15m and the Star says they are hopeful of luring him back with the promise of a regular starting place at St Mary's.
Man City transfer news: Gundogan deal kicks off £300m spree
08 April
One man who was not won over by Manchester City's performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League clash on Wednesday is Pep Guardiola.
Indeed he appears to have been rather unimpressed because, according to ESPN, the incoming Sky Blues boss is "targeting as many as eight signings for Manchester City in the transfer window".
The information, provided to ESPN by club sources, confirms recent rumours that the Spaniard wants to stamp his own mark on the Citizens squad as soon as he arrives.
So who might we see arrive at the Etihad in the summer? Apparently Guardiola - who will spend upwards of £300m in his splurge - has "prioritised the signings of Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte and Everton's John Stones" as part of his mission to strengthen City's defence.
Additionally Guardiola has his heart set on Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, while City have already "struck a deal in principle with Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan". And the German midfielder is likely to be joined by a frontman although ESPN names no names, other than to say Guardiola has decided to jettison Wilfried Bony.
Man City transfer news: Ter Stegen denies Etihad deal
07 April
Wednesday was a busy day for Manchester City with their hard-fought 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final coming a few hours after Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has dismissed rumours suggesting he has agreed terms with the Sky Blues.
According to Talksport, City "have made contact" with the Catalan club to ask them about the German shotstopper's availability ahead of the arrival as manager of Pep Guardiola. It's believed the Spaniard sees Ter Stegen as an able deputy to Joe Hart but when asked if there was any truth to the stories, the 23-year-old keeper told Mundo Deportivo: "It is not true that I have signed a deal with Manchester City."
However, the German gloveman did give the Citizens a glimmer of hope that he could yet be on his way to the Etihad, telling the Spanish newspaper that "we will see what happens at the end of the season".
He has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, although other reports suggest Barcelona will only let him leave on loan.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror names City as one of four "Premier League big guns" chasing the signature of Aston Villa "starlet" Andre Green. Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in the 17-year-old winger, who is rated as a better prospect than Jack Grealish by many at the doomed Midlands club, who face inevitable relegation this season.
Man City transfer news: Danny Rose in, Yaya Toure to stay
06 April
Could Tottenham pay for their fine season by having their squad cherry-picked by the traditional Premier League powerhouses? According to website Caughtoffside and the Evening Standard, Danny Rose is being stalked by Manchester City after incoming manager Pep Guardiola identified the Spurs defender as a quality talent.
It's said that the Spaniard has doubts as to whether Aleksandar Kolarov can still cut the mustard at left-back, hence the reason he's targeting the 25-year-old Rose.
Having made his international debut for England against Germany a fortnight ago, Rose is maturing into one of the Premier League's most reliable defenders. But with three years to run on Rose's contract at Tottenham, City would have to table a sizeable offer to secure the young blocker.
If Rose does head to the Etihad he'll make the acquaintance of Yaya Toure who, contrary to rumour, won't be leaving at the end of the season after all. That's according to the Daily Mirror at least, which claims the Ivory Coast midfielder "will snub a move to Inter Milan this summer".
Apparently it's all about money with Inter willing to offer him a three-year deal, provided he "takes a massive pay cut to less than £100,000-a-week". The Ivorian is currently earning a far more respectable £220,000-a-week at City, and will remain in Manchester until his contract expires at the end of next season.
Man City transfer news: Guardiola hopes to lure Luis Suarez
04 April
Another week and another big name linked to the Sky Blues, and this time it's Luis Suarez who is said to be on Pep Guardiola's wishlist.
According to the Daily Express the incoming City boss "believes he can persuade" Suarez to leave Barcelona for the Etihad because of the influence of his younger brother Per.
Guardiola junior runs the Media Base Sports agency, which counts Suarez among its clients, and the Express says that Pep is cautiously optimistic "that this connection will produce a deal for the Barcelona star before the start of next season".
Apparently Guardiola tried to entice the 29-year-old Suarez to Bayern Munich two years ago but instead he left Liverpool for Barcelona in a £65m deal. The Express claims that the final instalment of that fee, approximately £13m, has to be paid to the Reds by the end of July, but that "Barcelona would like City to pay it for them as part of any overall deal". All that remains is for the Citizens to secure Champions League football next season and they could be taking possession of Suarez.
Man City transfer news: Paul Pogba snub, but Laporte deal on
01 April
Just 24 hours after being described as a "priority" signing for Pep Guardiola, Paul Pogba is reportedly "ready to snub Manchester City and extend his deal with Juventus".
That's according to The Sun with the paper carrying the words of agent Mino Raiola, who told Italian rag La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Juventus and Paul are on the same page here... we are even ready to sign a new contract."
However, there is a glimmer of hope for City's incoming manager with Raiola admitting that every player has his price. “Juve won’t accept anything less than €100m [£79m] for his sale and I agree with that," he said before declaring that the young French playmaker was "happy" with life in Turin.
Over in Spain, the future of Barcelona Marc-Andre ter Stegen remains uncertain with Goal.com reporting that the Sky Blues "have not yet made a formal approach" for the Barcelona reserve keeper, although they remain on course to sign him this summer.
City and Liverpool have both been linked to the 23-year-old but the Germany international was giving nothing away when asked about his future at the Camp Nou. "Let's see what happens in the near future," said Ter Stegen. And that was enough for Goal.com to predict that Ter Stegen will likely move on in the summer "with City confident they can convince him to join incoming boss Pep Guardiola at the club".
And City are also cautiously optimistic that they'll prise Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao in the summer. Once again it is Goal.com with the news. It claims that the Spanish club "are trying to ward off suitors by offering the defender an improved contract", but the 21-year-old, who is out for three months after breaking his ankle last week, is said to be open to a move to the Premier League.
City will monitor his recuperation in the summer and provided there are no complications in his rehab, they will at some point "trigger the centre-back's €50m buy-out clause."
