1. Ruiz Jr vs. Joshua in Mexico?
Mexico’s new heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz Jr wants a potential rematch against Anthony Joshua to be held in his home country.
Ruiz Jr stunned former champion Joshua in New York last weekend to claim the IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO belts from the British fighter.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said a rematch clause in the contract would be exercised and a second fight could be planned for the UK.

However, Ruiz Jr told Sky Sports: “I’d love to do the rematch but first I’ve got to talk to my team, we’ll go from there and figure things out.
“I’d love to be in Mexico, there’s never been a heavyweight champion in Mexico so I’d love to have a rematch there. I’m still pinching myself that this is true, all that hard work and dedication, I’ve made my dreams come true. We’ve been working for this my whole life, it’s overwhelming and I’m just excited.”
2. Vettel denies retirement talk
Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has denied reports that he could retire from Formula 1 at the end of the 2019 season. The German said: “I have no plans to stop. I still have lots of fun, and I still have something to do at Ferrari.”

3. Klopp plays down Bayern rumours
Uefa Champions League winners Liverpool will play in the Fifa Club World Cup which is confirmed to take place in Qatar in December. Meanwhile, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been urged to move to Bayern Munich by German legend Franz Beckenbauer. Despite Beckenbauer’s words, Klopp said: “I like Franz - and he likes me. But I have a long-term contract at Liverpool.”
4. Sarri Juve move would be a ‘betrayal’
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho says that if manager Maurizio Sarri leaves to become the next boss of Juventus it would be a “betrayal” to fans of his former club Napoli. Jorginho said: “It was a good first season in Chelsea. It would be sad for everyone. The Napoli fans still have him in their hearts; it’s normal that they could get angry. They could treat it as a betrayal; they’re like that. We’ll see what happens.” Italian outlet Corriere della Sera reports that Juve are set offer Sarri a three-year contract worth £6.22m per year.
5. Fight for Felix
Benfica starlet Joao Felix is at the centre of a transfer tug of war between Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus. Felix, 19, scored 18 goals in 33 games for Benfica this season and the Portuguese club are demanding a fee of around £120m for a player tagged as the “next Cristiano Ronaldo”.

6. Racer dies at Isle of Man TT
English motorcyclist Daley Mathison was killed yesterday following a crash at the Isle of Man TT. The 27-year-old from Stockton-on-Tees was making his 19th start in the TT.
7. Semenya can run without medication
A Swiss Court has temporarily suspended an IAAF ruling that forces South African athlete Caster Semenya to take testosterone-reducing medication to compete. Quoted by the BBC, she said: “I hope following my appeal I will once again be able to run free. I am thankful to the Swiss judges for this decision.”
8. ‘Big three’ through to French quarters
Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are all through to the quarter-finals at the French Open grand slam in Paris. Third seed Federer takes on fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka in the last eight at 1pm today while defending champion Nadal faces Japan’s seventh seed Kei Nishikori at 2.15pm. World No.1 Djokovic plays German fifth seed Alexander Zverev in the last eight tomorrow.
9. Murray to play doubles at Queen’s
British tennis star Andy Murray will make his return from injury by playing doubles in the Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen’s Club from 17-23 June. According to a “trusted source”, The Guardian reports that Murray is not likely to play singles until later in the season.
10. Today’s back pages: England throw it away
England captain Eoin Morgan was not happy with his side’s fielding display in the Cricket World Cup loss against Pakistan yesterday. The tournament favourites fell to a 14-run defeat at Trent Bridge despite Joe Root and Jos Buttler scoring centuries.
