Today's front pages: Tory manifesto social care policy splits press

The Tory manifesto for June's general election dominates most of papers this morning. The right-wing tabloids are singing its praises, with the Daily Express and the Daily Mail saying the policies will end the "social care crisis".

However, The Times says thousands of elderly property owners will be hit as property value will be taken into account when calculating care payments.

Also critical, the i newspaper focuses on the "millions of pensioners" it says will lose their winter fuel funding.

The issue also makes the headlines at the Daily Telegraph, which says Theresa May is taking a gamble with her manifesto and risks angering core older Tory voters.

The Sun, meanwhile, leads on the party's plans to target rail bosses, phone firms and landlords who "rip off" struggling families.

Fellow red top the Daily Mirror goes with a different story, claiming as many as 100 paedophiles "still walk the streets" in relation to the Rochdale child sex abuse case.
