OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro: livestream, plus rumours and news
Covers are about to come off the new giant-slaying smartphones
OnePlus is about to announce its next major smartphones of 2019, as the company’s product keynote is now underway way.
The Chinese tech company traditionally launches just one handset in the first half of the year, followed by an updated version six months later.
But the firm is ripping up the rules with the dual launch of the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro, a more powerful model expected to rival the iPhone XS and Samsung Galaxy S10.

Both will be unveiled at an event in London today - and a third model compatible with 5G networks may also in the pipeline, according to recent reports.
Here are all the latest rumours about the new OnePlus 7 line-up:
Release date
The 7 and the 7 Plus smartphones will be revealed at an event in London today.
Where to watch the reveal
OnePlus is currently streaming the launch event live from its official website and through its YouTube channel.
Prices
The OnePlus brand “still stands for value”, offering top-tier performance for half the price of an iPhone, so the OnePlus 7 is unlikely to be significantly more expensive than its predecessor, the £499 OnePlus 6T, according to Trusted Reviews.
That said, the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G are expected to cost a “good chunk more” than the base-spec model, the website adds.
Tech news site Android Central claims the OnePlus 7 Pro will cost around €749 (£643), while the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is expected have a considerably higher price tag.
What are the specs?
OnePlus 7 Pro models look set to get 6.6in OLED displays with a refresh rate of 90Hz - equivalent to 90fps - so video footage and animations “will look much smoother” than devices running 60fps screens, such as the Google Pixel 3, says T3.
An image showing a newspaper advert for the OnePlus 7 Pro, posted by the OnePlus’ official US Twitter account, touts an edge-to-edge display with no bezels and no “notch” - a small indent at the top of the screen housing the mobile’s front-facing cameras and sensors.
Another image that leaked online in March suggests that OnePlus has managed to scrap the notch by installing a front-facing lens that pops up from the top of the phone when the camera app is launched, BGR reports.
Details about the OnePlus 7 and rumoured 5G model are scarce, but the latter is expected to be identical to the OnePlus 7 Pro other than having support for the faster mobile connection.
An image of a specs sheet posted by SlashLeaks claims that both the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 855 processor and in-screen fingerprint scanners.
The serial leaker also claims that the standard model will get 6GB of ram, increasing to 10GB on Pro models. The entry-level version also comes with a larger battery - 4,150mAh compared with the Pro’s 4,000mAh pack.
What about the camera?
The OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a triple-lens camera system, including a 3x optical zoom, Wired reports.
SlashLeaks says the other two lenses consist of a 48-megapixel “primary sensor” and an ultra wide-angle shooter. The standard OnePlus 7 is expected to feature both of these lenses but not the 3x optical zoom.
