J.K. Rowling's once-sterling reputation as one of the world's foremost children's book authors has been tarnished in recent years by her disparaging remarks about the transgender community. Her anti-trans stance on gender issues has encouraged many fans and stars of the wizarding franchise to distance themselves from the writer.
